But there was only so much she could learn from afar.

Somewhere beyond her world, something was changing.

And the signal was calling her toward it.

For the first time, Zeia faced a choice.

She could remain among everything she had ever known—beneath the stars of her home, watching the mystery unfold from a distance.

Or she could follow it.

Zeia chose the unknown.

She entered her ship and set a course beyond the Pleiades.

As her home slowly disappeared behind her, she looked back one final time.

She did not know where the journey would lead.

She did not know who—or what—she would find.

She only knew the signal was still there.

Waiting somewhere across the darkness.
